Why files may be rejected
ComTrack rejects certain uploaded files to prevent bad data or duplicates. This can happen for two reasons:
-
Non-statement files
Some carriers publish multiple report types under similar names.
Example: Anthem releases a “Commission Summary” — but it’s not a true commission statement. To avoid duplicating data when the actual Anthem statements are digested, ComTrack automatically rejects these summary-type files and accepts Anthem's weekly commission statements.
-
Rolling statements
Other carriers issue rolling statements — reports that get updated throughout the month.
Example:
- On August 5, UnitedHealthcare’s August statement might include 10 rows.
- By August 25, that same statement might include 30 rows (the original 10 + 20 new).
Because these files change over time, ComTrack doesn’t ingest them until the month has closed. This prevents data loss from partial uploads or duplicate records.
The 3 carriers that have Rolling statements are:
- Aetna MA
- Heartland National
- Publishes a Rolling and Defined statement. We recommend digesting the Defined statement. Here's a walkthrough.
- Unitedhealthcare
Re-upload after month end
Once the month ends, you can safely re-upload those statements and they’ll be processed normally.
