Creating and Using the Dashboard for Data Visualization
Objective
This SOP outlines the steps to effectively use the dashboard for visualizing data, filtering information, and understanding key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Steps
Overview of Dashboard 0:00
- The dashboard provides a visual overview of your data.
- It is built off the All Time Data tab, reflecting any changes made in the All Time Data.
Filtering Data by Timeframe 0:36
- To view data for a specific month, click on the month.
- To view multiple months, click and drag across the timeline.
Understanding Period Unknown Data 1:02
- Period Unknown refers to rows without assigned statement dates or payment periods.
- Some carriers may not provide actual statement dates, requiring manual input.
Using Agent Filters 2:16
- Select one or multiple agents to filter data.
- Create lists of agents for easier filtering (e.g., 'demo list').
- Apply filters to view specific groups of agents.
Filtering by Carrier 3:36
- Use the search bar to filter by specific carriers (e.g., 'Aetna').
- You can filter by multiple carriers and types (life, health, PNC, etc.).
Classification Filters 4:14
- Filter data by classification (e.g., renewals, new sales, chargebacks).
Viewing Distribution with Donut Charts 4:42
- Click on the donut chart to see the distribution of commissions by agent or carrier.
Understanding Leaderboards 6:08
- Leaderboards display KPIs for the agency and individual agents.
- Sort data by total commission, advances, chargebacks, and net sales.
Visualizing Data by Premium 8:01
- Switch the view to visualize data in terms of premium instead of commission.
Agent Payroll Overview 9:22
- View how much has been paid to agents in terms of payroll.
Understanding Spread 9:38
- Spread shows the profit after paying agents and uploads.
Cautionary Notes
- Ensure all data in the All Time Data tab is accurate before relying on the dashboard for decision-making.
- Be aware that Period Unknown data may affect overall commission calculations.
Tips for Efficiency
- Regularly update the All Time Data to ensure the dashboard reflects the most current information.
- Utilize agent lists for quick filtering to save time when analyzing specific groups.
- Familiarize yourself with the various filters to maximize the dashboard's capabilities.
