Missing Renewals

The Missing Renewals button takes your data from the All Time tab and automatically creates a separate tab for each month in your dataset.

It also identifies renewals that were received in the prior month but are missing in the current month—helping you track down potential lost commissions.

How It Works

1. From the All Time tab, click Split into Months Missing Renewals.

2. ComTrack will:

   • Separate your All Time data into individual month tabs.

   • Name each tab for the corresponding month and year.

   • Add a Missing Renewals toggle button in each month’s tab.

Example:
If your All Time tab has data from February 2023 and then jumps to March 2024, there will be no month tabs for the missing months in between—only months with actual commission data will be generated.

Using the Missing Renewals Toggle

• Click the Missing Renewals button in any month’s tab to reveal renewals that:

  • Appeared in the previous month’s data, but

  • Do not appear in the current month.

• Click the button again to hide the list.

Possible reasons for missing renewals:

• Member passed away

• Policy was replaced or flipped

• Policy was rewritten

• Carrier failed to pay the commission

• Policy was terminated for another reason

Some carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, provide a Termination Reason in their data, which makes investigation easier. Others may only provide a Termination Date (and some dates may be incorrect, such as Cigna showing year “2078”).

What to Do Next

When you see missing renewals:

1. Check carrier data for any provided termination reason or date.

2. If no reason is listed, contact the carrier to confirm.

3. Follow up with the writing agent or client (if you are the writing agent) to determine the cause.

4. Take any action needed to recover missing commissions.

Coming January 2026 — Rewrite Tracker

We’re launching a new feature called Rewrite Tracker that will automatically identify any Missing Renewals caused by rewrites.
This will save time by eliminating the need to manually determine if a missing renewal was replaced by you with a new policy.
